milan777
I am using 64-bit version, and there is a problem. I want to change watermark text on desktop (right, down corner of screen). It is possible by changing user32.dll.mui in resource editor. I edited 32 and 64-bit file in WOW64 and System32 folder, but text on screen is same. Nothing changed... I replaced backups in C:\Windows\winsxs because it may use system file from backup, but nothing. How can I successfully apply modified system files on 64-bit Windows OS? submix8c
So you want to change the WatermarkWindows 7Evaluation Copy, Build 7600toWindows 7Light Edition Build 7600One might ask... did you EVER use a REAL Legitimate Product Key (YOUR key when you PURCHASED Win7) and ACTIVATE it? Evaluation Keys will not make it Permanent/Activated. Why in the world would you want to hack your OS otherwise? The indication is that you have an Evaluation (Time-Bombed) Version and not a Retail Version.http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/8969-evaluation-copy-watermark-windows-7-desktop.html Edited February 4, 2013 by submix8c

I don't want to remove watermark, my Windows is Activated, i just want to change it because of customization.
submix8c
So, yours is Activated and has this exact watermarkWindows 7Evaluation Copy, Build 7600I understand you want "change it". The QUESTION is WHY it shows the watermark as "Evaluation" in the FIRST place."Build 7600" = no update to "Windows 7 Service Pack 1 RTM Build 7601.17514.101119-1850"?Here's the point - a WATERMARK shouldn't even EXIST! And you shouldn't even be able to ACTIVATE an "Evaluation" version. The ONLY way you can activate an Evaluation version (which is ENTERPRISE) is via a MAK key (ENTERPRISE) - see this -http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itproinstall/thread/9e7cad94-579d-487e-95a9-a6335ad52b26So...1 - You have Windows 7 Enterprise Evaluation Installed2 - You obtained a MAK (or maybe a KMS key and it's Activated3 - You STILL have the "Evaluation" watermarkHow odd!!! And it's also displaying the "en-US" folder - Doing the right one?Still is it displaying the Original "Genuine" or is it displaying "Evaluation"? As I said - wondering.
