When use it with "/PAE", on opening the camera, all usb deivices stop work, such as usb mouse, usb keyboard.

But the "Terminal Services" still work , so I can connect to it.

When I remove the "/PAE" option from boot.ini , it work well. I've try to use XPSP3's usbvideo.sys , it not work with "/PAE" too.

The usbvideo.sys version is 5.2.3790.3959. Is there any patch to this file?

1st I would like to know what ver of 2003 you are using as microsoft state that only the following support PAE and I find it a little odd for someone to be running 2003 Enterprise or above and want a usb camera on it? If its none of the following versions you may as well turn off PAE as it will not be making any difference (according to microsoft)?

PAE is the added ability of the IA32 processor to address more than 4 GB of physical memory. The following operating systems can use PAE to take advantage of physical memory beyond 4 GB:

Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server

Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition

Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition

An alternative option (never tried before by myself) would be to install oracle Vbox virtual machine on the server as it supports usb and load an XP OS on it.

I'm using 2003 SP2 R2 Enterprise Edition. On my server box, PAE is auto on by some BIOS settings.

I can only disable PAE by adding "/execute /NOPAE" to boot.ini.

When PAE is disabled, I can't use all of the 16GB ram.
