Tommy Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I'm a vivid fan of AVG and the new versions 2011+ do not support Windows 2000. I do realize version 9 is still supported but the question is for how long. I was able to extract the files via WinRAR and I modified the windows installer files so they would include Windows 2000 support, however, I still get a message saying that my operating system is not supported. I have used BWC's fcwin utility as well to set compatibility and that also doesn't work. Do anyone know what you could do from there to try and get it to work? I hate change and would rather stick with AVG since I've used it for a decade. Any help on the situation would be greatly appreciated!
Phenomic Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 AVG 9xx works fine in win2k if you have SP4 and Update Rollup 1I have AVG downloaded "avg_free_stf_en_90_839a2960.exe", works fine with default installation. Also AVG can do command line scans over your network (scheduled at night), so if one machine has AVG you don't need to install on all of them:"C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG9\avgscanx.exe" /SCAN=\\server\c$\ /HEUR /ARC /CLEAN /BOOT /PROC /REG /PUP /COO /ADS /PRIORITY=High..
