Windows 7 Control Panel

How do I customize the Control Panel? Or is this an error? (I do apologize for the 'stupid' question, but I'm still a little new with 7). It currently looks like this...

The "bar" on the left-hand side is missing... It was so beautiful in contrast to Vista's.

You can add this registry key to always show menus:

First option:

Menus.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]
"AlwaysShowMenus"=dword:00000001

2nd option:

Or browse to: Control Panel | Appearance and personalization | Folder Options | Display . And select : Always show menus

*Edit: But about the left pane color (image) like Vista...It's not the same on Windows 7!

*Edit 2: You can change the left pane image inside: %windir%\System32\shell32.dll -> Bitmap -> 632 & 633
