dubsdj
Recently all of a sudden at one site when a standard user logs into a windows 7 pc (mixed xp / w7 environment) they are greeted with the ugly windows 95 classic task bar and not the aero one!obviously they cannot change it because the display settings are restricted.if i log in as an administrator then its back to the aero style! To make things even more weird 2 users (same ou/ polices etc) get the aero theme...I've checked the group polices and compared them to the other site DC which doesn't have this problem and I cannot see any differences in policies.users are roaming and they log into both xp and windows 7 computers on the 2003 domain...does anybody know whats going on, it's really annoying me now.Just to add: I have tried removing the users roaming profiles / app data / local and network folders etc...no luck.. Tripredacus
Since not all users see this I wonder about something. Are your AD profiles set to store display setting data? Do these users get the Classic or XP style when they log into an XP machine? Have you determined if these working users never log into an XP machine?See where I'm getting to?
