sameer752003
Hi, I have a problem with my pc. It hangs while booting in win xp. I have to switch off the power to the pc to shut it down. Sometimes it hangs even after booting up and logging in. It works fine in safe mode although i have tried it only once. Even while restarting it hangs at POST. Power and HDD LED glow continiously. I also have win 7 installed and it works fine. So what can be the problem.
Ponch
You need to investigate further. At this point you have it hanging at POST (this means hardware problem) and behaving differently in XP and Win7 (would mean software problem in XP). If POST problem only happens when restarting (not at cold boot), check for available Bios update.
Mordac85
I assume this is a dual boot system and you're using XP more often. You might also want to check the disk for errors. Did the issue just start or has it been getting progressively worse? Was there any physical damage or shock to the system that may have either caused HW damage?
