Change <EDITIONID> in WIM Info

Recommended Posts

Heya!

So I want to change my Ultimate ISO (It only contains Ultimate) to Professional, so I renamed everything in the install.wim to PROFESSIONAL using imagex. I edited ei.cfg and replaced install_Windows 7 ULTIMATE.clg with install_Windows 7 PROFESSIONAL.clg.

So the imagex info output shows this:

WIM Information:

</WIM>

What really bugs me is <EDITIONID>Ultimate</EDITIONID> which I am apparenty not able to change. imagex does not offer an option.

Oh and.. how do I access the unattended answer file? The pre-entered key wont work anymore since the version changed.

Choose:

Export --> Browse to source wim file --> Select Image #4 --> Browse to a temp location for the new wim --> Set compression to maximum --> enter desired version name --> CLICK EXPORT

Then

DELETE ALL .clg Files from iso folder!

Overwrite OLD install.wim with NEW install.wim

MAKE ISO!!!

You now have a win7 disk that contains only Win7 Pro....

The answer file?

Simply edit the same way you created it....
