Hello MSFN forum

This is my first post so please advice me if I make any mistakes.

I want to create one external USB hard drive with the possibility to boot windows 7 directly from a partition, aswell the option to install windows 7 to my internal hard drive.

I have allready managed to boot windows 7 directly from a usb drive after following the fantastic steps of this guy;

Also I have managed to copy windows installation files to another hard drive by using simple guides or windows 7 iso to usb tools.

However I need to make theese two options avaliable from the same external usb disk.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on what I can try to make the disk as I want?

Do not hesitate to ask if i left out relevant information.

Thank you and best regards.

Well you will need to know how to manually kick off either of those two options. Choose your own progamming method, batch or something more advanced. Then in your WinPE, use the winpeshl.ini (or startnet.cmd but not both) to launch wpeinit, then your program.

Actually it llooks a lot like you want to switch between the two well before booting the PE (or the "full 7").

This is something that you can do with grub4dos (or a similar bootmanager).

The place where to go is (on MSFN) here:

http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/157-install-windows-from-usb/

Otherwise browse reboot.pro grub4dos Forum:

http://reboot.pro/forum/66/

and/or the Windows 7 one:

http://reboot.pro/forum/77/

Particularly check the tutorials on steve6375's site:

By "putting together" different things you should be able to reach your goal.

This might also interest you :
