Monroe Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I just tried installing Shockwave v10.3.0.24 and got this pop up message. .... C:\winnt\sys32\kernel32.dll (GetSystemWow64DirectoryA). The Specified Procedure Could Not Be Found. So it didn't install ... this message may have nothing to do with this version of Shockwave, I don't know. I am going to drop back one version and try again. Would like to know what others have installed on their Windows 2000 setup? ... thanks
tomasz86 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.9.620 works on my system.http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exeYou may try patching your kernel32.dll using BlackWingCat's hotfix (Windows2000-KB935839-v5-x86-ENU.EXE)http://blog.livedoor.jp/blackwingcat/archives/1299806.html
Monroe Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) tomasz86 ... thanks for the reply. I just installed the next "lower" Shockwave version and it installed with no "popup" window and no problems .... this was Shockwave v10.2.0.023. I will check out the information that you supplied about BlackWingCat's hotfix. That sounds interesting ... finishing up my first week of having Windows 2000 Pro installed and I really like everything so far ... working right now on a Dell Latitude Pentium 3 and everything seems so much faster ... just installed KMPlayer, utorrent, Flash Player plus other software that I have on my 98SE machines ... everything seems to be OK so far ... definitely think my computer is faster ... seems to really "jump" around. I am thinking of putting Windows 2000 on my Thinkpad T42 with the Pentium M, want to work all the "bugs" out first on the Dell and then when I have everything just right on the Dell then it should be an easy install on the Thinkpad ... the speed should be in "light years" on that notebook ! ... thanksExtra ... here's a good site to check your Shockwave install at ... also gives a few other checks.http://www.explorelearning.com/index.cfm?method=cCorp.dspTest Edited March 18, 2011 by duffy98
