how to change cache size on drives (HDD, USB key...)?

Hi.

I wanna change the buffer size of the drives on my computer.

For example I wanna increase it for a HDD or USB key, or to set it 0 for a ramdrive...

Is it possible? And if it is, how...?

Thank you for any help.

Best regards, John

Thank you

But I wanna know also how to change the size of the buffer, no just enabling/disabling it..

And could someone change the word "buufer" from the topic's title into "buffer"? I can't change anymore... Thank you.

Maybe change it form "buufer" to "cache" ,

The "buffer" is normally intended as "hardware", as in:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_buffer

Looky here ;):

Yes, you're right

And thank you.

Later edit:

I tested the programs and I don't see how to set the cache min/max values for every drive.

NtCacheSetter sets min and max value but not for each drive.

Anyway I tried some values but I didn't see a change in what Task Manager reports.

SetSystemFileCacheSize is not for Windows XP.

FileCacheTest is for testing.
