wajed
I have gone through a big mess. Now, I don't even understand what a caddy is. Maybe I can find my own solution without having to buy one.So, my question is, does the hard drive caddy only hold the hard drive? or does it also provide any connectivity? In other words, if I get a hard drive and try to connect it directly without any caddies, will it work?I asked someone about which one to use, and he said this one: http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=345Yes, I see a cable in the picture, but is it needed? Again, will it work if I try to connect the SSD directly?

wajed
OK, this is expected, I have a second question. I want to put the 1TB drive in place of the optical drive (in the optical drive bay.) I was told that I will need this: http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=176But that it is only 9.5mm height. And the 1TB drive coming in the HP is the 12mm.Maybe I can do some modding? What can I do to use the 1TB in place of the optical drive?Do I even need this caddy? What if I directly connect the 1TB drive and fix the drive my way?The laptop is HP dv7tqe (specifically HP DV7-4270us)
Kelsenellenelvian
Works with 2.5" SATA hard drives (maximum height of 9.5mm)1 = MAXIMUM height. You would hafta mod your laptop too.
