@blackwingcat

Some time ago you prepared Windows2000-KB954434-INTL.exe. The files included in it are:

HAL.DLL 5.0.2195.6692
halaacpi.dll 5.0.2195.6692
halacpi.dll 5.0.2195.6692
halapic.dll 5.0.2195.6692
halborg.dll 5.0.2195.6692
halmacpi.dll 5.0.2195.7007
halmps.dll 5.0.2195.7007
halsp.dll 5.0.2195.6692

There are newer version of the three files available in KB835730:

Halaacpi.dll 5.0.2195.6988
Halacpi.dll 5.0.2195.6988
Halmacpi.dll 5.0.2195.6988

Would it be possible to update the three files in KB954434?

Hi blackwingcat thought I'd let you know that I couldn't use the latest kernel July 10th Version. It installed but wouldn't get past the start screen and a blue stop error. It was related to the video. Was able to uninstall in safe mode and put 17c back. Works good again.

What vga driver do you use ?

Old ati agp driver may have problem.

What I've got is the ATI AGP 4600 series. The last good drivers to work with this card are the 912 beta. I've tried nearly everyone of the 10 and 11 drivers and they would either crash the system or certain sites like youtube video wouldn't play properly.

If we can get through Firefox's 17 version without it breaking again then the Kernelex 17c will do for me because FF17 is next for their ESR and that lasts right through 2014.

Kernel Core package does not depend on Extended Kernel .

videoprt.sys may have a problem in Kernel Core .

I created test version other videoprt.sys.

Please try to replace one in 'http://w2k.flxsrv.org/Windows2000-KB829884-v7a-x86-INTL.exe'

I don't know if this has anything to do with what I have on my system, but when I install the extended core and I right click on my computer and click properties, explorer crashes. I also get errors at startup, I think they have to deal with the intel extreme graphics controller software.

There are newer driver here.

It looks like wmp10 build 4068's(old version) bug.

Did you install its version ?

It almost goes BSoD if there are any problem in Kernel Core.

It's version 6.14.10.4864, it's the Intel Mobile Chipset Driver. 965 to be exact.

I will try a newer driver later after work. I did not install Windows Media Player either. But I made sure that I followed the steps we talked about to fix it and it made no difference. I should mention I have UURollup 10 installed as well.

This is a quote from my website...

BWC / WB kernel

Files from both unofficial kernels are already included in UURollup (ENU) so installing any of them after UURollup (ENU) is highly unrecommended. Especially installing BWC kernel will likely make the system unbootable because explorer.exe will not start. Fortunately, in such a case you can still boot into Safe Mode and uninstall it from there.
