Cosmin3
Hi.A friend of mine has Vista SP2 and he wants to include the latest updates. To post this message I tried using his account or making a new one but it doesn't seem to be working. So I will ask from my account.I used Windows Updates Downloader to download them. The files:Internet Explorer 8 Updates\IE8-Windows6.0-KB972260-x86.msu Internet Explorer 8 Updates\IE8-Windows6.0-KB973874-x86.msu dotnetfx35setup.exeWindows6.0-KB905866-v46-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB928439-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB943729-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB956744-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB961371-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB961501-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB967632-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB968389-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB968537-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB969898-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB970238-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB970653-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB971557-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB971657-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB972036-v2-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB973346-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB973507-x86.msuWindows6.0-KB973540-x86.msuwindowsupdateagent30-x86.exeA few questions:1. Do I add all of them or just some?2. For Internet Explorer 8 do I need the main installer? If so where do I find it in a form that can pe added as an update/hotfix in vlite..?3. Is there an addon for DirectX or do I have to install it silently in RunOnce? Can you please help me and my friend?Thank you in advance.Best regards, Cosmin3 Edited November 26, 2010 by Cosmin3
Cosmin3
I have tested in VirtualBox and:1. Indeed I need the main installer for IE8.2. These updates are not helping much. For example with them Windows Update says there are 68 important updates and 42 optional; without them it says 73 important and 43 optional.Where can I find them..? I mean a location where I can download them at once because I'm not so happy searching and downloading so many updates one by one...

Cosmin3
Alrgiht!, I have your answer. For your question 1 use vlite. And for all the updates you wanted to download please tell me your download speed.Ok, thank you.My download speed is usually 350 KB/s but on some ocasions it's 2..3 MB/s. For example from microsoft .com I download Waik with 2 MB/s.
Cosmin3
Anyway I didn't understood why you replied "vlite" for my first question since I asked which updates to integrate not which program to use.Of course I knew that I have to use vlite to integrate them...When I replied in this thread I didn't asked only you, I asked everybody. I didn't created a new thread because the rules on any forum say to not create another thread on the same subject. So I didn't understood your "Alrgiht!" either...Finally, I gave up searching for a list with all updates. I think that Vista it's not worth all the trouble. XP and 7 yes but not Vista.I'm not using Vista and I will never use it. So I will tell my friend that, for now, he should continue downloading updates as usual. Thanks anyway. Edited December 1, 2010 by Cosmin3
