msoff20xx
Assume I opened WinExplorer for a certain directory say D:\workThen I take a screen snaphot into a picture file or save a content into a new file from a 3rd program in this directory. So one or more files are created from outside WinExplorer in the currently shown directory. But the problem is that even after 3 minutes WinExplorer does NOT show these new files.I always have to click on another folder and then switch back to the old folder. Then the new files show up on the right pane of WinExplorer. This can be observed for ALL folders (not only D:\work).It seems to me that creating a new file does NOT trigger an auto-refresh of WinExplorer. This was different in WinXP. There the new files were visible within a second. How can I enable immediate auto-refresh in WinExplorer under Win7Peter
Tripredacus
I'm pretty sure this feature is enabled by default. All the Win7 systems I have used do this, in fact even better than XP. It may be something that has a dependency on something else, but frankly I wouldn't know where to start. Have you modified your install at all with vLite, RT7Lite or something similar? IcemanND
I've only seen this with network drives on my Win7 systems. No need to leave the directory you can manually refresh by hitting F5. Most of the solutions I have seen point towards issues with the system looking for network resources that are unavailable.
