Why does MSGR3EN.DLL from Off2003 need outbound connection?

After installation and start of Ms Office 2003 an outbound connection from

...\common files\Microsoft Shared\proof\1033\MSGR3EN.DLL

is created.

My firewall popped up a warning and blocked the traffic.

Why does MsOffice need an outbound Internet connection?

How can I permanently disable these outbound connection trials?

(for Word 2003)

(menu) Tools > Research

On the right-hand pane that appears, on the bottom click Research Options

Then, for each item in the table, select Properties and see what gives.

Or uncheck the ones you don't need.

Also, (menu) Help > Customer Feedback Options

Turn off everything you can.
