the_guy
I managed to find the official M$ version of 2347290 (the so called custom update). It has spoolsv.exe 5.0.2195.7425.I'll upload it later on after testing it.From what I've seen online, there also looks like there's a build of shell32.dll from MS10-046 kicking around, with a version number 0f 5.0.3900.7424 and a timestamp of July 27, 2010. Only found the existence of it while Googling that version of spoolsv.exe.

tomasz86
I found all of them:MS10-061_Windows2000-KB2347290-x86-custom-ENU.EXEMS10-090_IE6.0sp1-KB2416400-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exeMS11-002_MDAC281-KB983838-x86-ENU.exeMS11-003_IE6.0sp1-KB2482017-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exeMS11-006_Windows2000-KB2483185-x86-custom-ENU.EXEAll have M$ digital signatures so I'm 100% sure they're official. Still haven't got time to test them.@EDITWhat's interesting that ex. 2483185 doesn't fix shell32.dll (as it's in case of the XP version) but it rather fixes a different file - thumbvw.dll 5.0.3900.7440.I'll need to have a closer look at them when I've got time. I guess there might be some incompatibilties with some of the currently used unofficial updates. Edited February 18, 2012 by tomasz86
tomasz86
Could anyone help me to filter URLs from this file?http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15391619/Windows%202000/1.txtThey seem to be dead but still it'd be nice to test all of them in wget. I've been trying with batch scriptFOR /F "tokens=4 delims==" %%I IN (1.txt) DO ECHO %%I>>2.txtbut can't make a loop for unknown reason (at least unknown to me )

tomasz86
Thank you very much. Strings.exe worked. Unfortuantely none of the URLs is still valid (as expected).I uploaded 4 updates:IE6.0sp1-KB2482017-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exeWindows2000-KB2483185-x86-custom-ENU.EXEWindows2000-KB2347290-x86-custom-ENU.EXEMDAC281-KB983838-x86-ENU.exeThese are NOT unofficial updates. There's also 2416400 available but it's replaced by 2482017.983838 for MDAC is the same update as 2419632 (MS11-002) for XP and the unofficial 2419632 made by WildBill. tomasz86
WildBill,Would it be a problem for you to update your 979687 using the newest shlwapi.dll from 2483185? The new one lacks SHRegGetValueW and wordpad.exe from XP doesn't run anymore.
tomasz86
By the way, the new browseui.dll from 2483185 removes your new 32-bit explorer icons (arrows, favourites, etc) which you added in 2479628. There's also one more thing about 2479628 - it has Comctl32.dll 5.81.4968.2505 but the XP comctl32.dll 5.82.2900.6028 works too when your kernel is installed. Installing it however breaks the 32-bit icon support inside explorer so icons have black background. It'd be nice to be able to use XP's comctl32 (more APIs than 2K version) and keep 32-bit icons support... Would it be very difficult to implement? blackwingcat
I included XP's comctl32.dll in MS10-081 for Windows 2000.But there is a little difference from xp version (ver 5.82.2900.6029)Some applications are checked control version by comctl32, so I changed it as same as ver 5.81.By the way, the new shell32.dll from 2483185 removes your new 32-bit explorer icons (arrows, favourites, etc) which you added in 2479628.
