Hi and welcome,

I don't think it can be installed without High Definition Audio class driver, but I might be wrong or there might be a workaround...

Hello

I have read this article and I 've got exactly the same problem. I need a Windows 98 SE driver for realtek ALC883. Is there any way to install this? With an .inf file? With Windows 98 DDK? Please help. Thanks in advance.

HD Audio Devices are not and will never be supported in Win9x or pre-Win2k versions.

Sorry... Only alternative is disable HD Audio Device in BIOS and install a supported non-HD add-on card.
