thegilb100 Posted July 21, 2010 Share Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Hii am trying to use vlite with the "windows vista external recovery media" that came with my msi laptop. and it keeps giving me the error message "cannot find the expected instalation files" when i browse the vista dvdi just want to ask where on the DVD are the vista install files located? I had to copy both DVDs to my harddrive and then move the .swm files to the sources directory that contained a BOOT.WIM. Do you have a bunch of .swm files on your DVD? thegilb100 Posted July 25, 2010 Author Share Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) update: i ended up getting am iso of vista and now have vlite workingi was testing a configuration in virtualbox and the programme won't boot after instalation and reports hal.dll is missing, any ideas on how this could happen? did i remove it when i was removing features?
