vfclists
I have a program whose screen gets corrupted when I switch to the Windows Classic theme in Windows XP.With Windows 2000 there is no fix as there are no themes for Windows 2000. When can I download additional themes to use with Windows 2003 Server? It seems the base install doesn't have additional themes installed with it. Guest
I have put together a package of signed themes for use with XP/2003. A patched UXTheme.dll file is not necessary. You must start the Themes service to use these themes, and for the installer to finish automatically. To start the Themes service:Press WindowsKey+R.Type "services.msc" and press Enter.Scroll down and double-click Themes.Change the startup type and click Apply. (Manual or Automatic will work.)Click Start in the Themes Properties window and click OK. Edited July 18, 2010 by 5eraph
vfclists
Thanks for the links. Is there some way themes can be applied to Windows 2000? I think the problem I am facing occurs because the Windows Classic theme is obviously based on Windows 2000, but is there no way they can be applied to Windows 2000, even with some kind of update or patch? Guest
I've never used Win2000 on my own PCs. But I did find some information which may help.Otherwise, according to another thread here on MSFN, WindowBlinds appears to be "your only real choice."
