vfclists
Windows XP is taking too much time to logon to the desktop after I logon. In the past it appears to be linked to some network issues, like DNS etc.Is there some way to diagnose the issue? MrJinje
While yes, network issues could be at play, first I'd want to see what you have running on start-up, can you use Autoruns and see what is really going on when you boot-up.
cluberti
Assuming the delay is from entering your logon credentials to getting to a usable desktop, you might want to start with some userenv logging to see what steps are taking the most time - once you know where most of your time during logon is actually being spent, you can start troubleshooting in a more targeted fashion. allen2
Does pressing espace key after logging in (when the screen only show the background) solving the problem ?
