elytron
Hi guys, i was able to trim down my xp and then boot it from my usb deviece using usb_multiboot 10. Then i wanted to change some more things with nlite and install it again. But now i am not able to run usb_multiboot.cmd anymore on my trimmed down xp. A black screen will just pop up and dissappear right after. It seems that i removed a component which i need for it. Can someone tell me which component it is?[Main]Env = 1.4.9.1 - 2.0.50727.4927.Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7600.0Target = Windows XP Professional SP3 - 5.1.2600.5512 - English (United ilko_t
What are contents of usb_log.txt in usb_multiboot_10.cmd directory?
elytron
Hi, well there is no log file in this directory. When i click on usb_multiboot.cmd the command prompt is flashing up just for a millisecond with something written in it. I now installed camstudio to capture the screen and watched it in slow motion just to see the error. There is says: "find" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Maybe this is because i removed the command-line tools in nlite? And if yes, is there a chance to get them back without reinstalling xp ?
ilko_t
The problem is with the system you are running the script on, not the source you have nLited.Line 21 of USB_multiboot_10.cmdVER | find "6.0." > nulDo you have find.exe in C:\WINDOWS\system32 ?Try this:Added:On a second read- you have run the script on the trimmed down XP, so I guess the option in question would be Operating System Options -->Command-line tools
elytron
Hi again. I think you misunderstood me. i am currently running the system which i had nlited earlier. But now i wanted to make some additionally changes to the source and reinstall again. And i dont have find.exe in system32 best regards ely
Sp0iLedBrAt
If this is an nLite question you are asking, please post it in the nLite forum. For the time being, I'll just tell you you can't continue to modify an already modified source. You need a fresh source to start with, but you can use Last Session.ini to implement your customizations.

elytron
Ok thank you. And is there a way to get them back without reinstalling the original xp? i just did a repair install, but that did not fixed my problem.best regardsely
ilko_t
You may be able just to copy the missing files, but you'd have to ask in the nLite forum what exactly is removed by that option. An advice- remove only stuff you know what it is about and you won't need it for sure. The time wasted in troubleshooting/repairing/reinstalling does not compare at all with the imaginary time saved using trimmed down Windows.
