Hello. My question is how can i solve the upgrade problem of my hard disk:

I have dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7. The Hard disk with boot info and windows xp is 10gb ide while the other is 320 gb sata II with Widows 7 and all the files.

If i upgrade my 10 gb ide hard disk i loose the boot info and windows xp.

I want to keep windows xp and windows 7 and i do not want to reinstall both OS again, as you know that we have to install windows xp first and than windows 7 to get windows dual boot.

What can i do? Thanks.

1st edit your post comply with forum rule 12 (meaningless subjects in topic title).

You should image your old drive to the new one. Be sure to image the disk and not only the partition.

After that, you will probably have to get your new (sata?) drive on the sata cable that takes the 1st position in boot order so that your Win7 is still on 2nd disk. I'm not sure how the boot process will digest the changes. Be sure you can access the system from an alternative boot device in case of (small) problem.

12. Very often we see meaningless subjects in topic title. They give no clue of what the posts are all about. For example:

Hmmmm....

This should be avoided. Users should enter something more specific in the topic title so that it is easier for others to help.

A few good examples:

Strange problem with DirectX9b redist

RunOnceEx install problem (double installation)

Change Internet Explorer's Icon back to default
