Could you please explain why my personal Profile tells me I have one post more than what I actually have? E.g., the Forums page tells me I have 499, the personal profile page - 500.

Edit: before posting this one ;)

That's normal.

The posts shown in topic view (as in here) never get reduced unless you recount them. The one shown in the profile view (active posts) is what is actually present in the database. Lets say for example, you have 1000 posts and you deleted 100 of your posts. The topic view will still say 1000, your profile view will say 900.

Anyway, i found workaround.

It also counts posts you make in the Welcome forum on your profile, but not on your posts. So having one extra post is normal on your profile. People like me and Dencorso have a lot more posts on our profile page than you see on any of our posts because we welcome new users a lot.

I may have missed a post on this already but...

Is the "Online At Once Record" correct? I could have sworn a couple of days ago it read 8000+ but today it says "today 6000+". Maybe I need better glasses or some of that "old-timer disease" medicine...

Gulp! Just refreshed the Forum page... number changed to 1522 but still says "Today" and the time updated to... Refresh time!:blink:

This was brought up here:

http://www.msfn.org/board/suddenly-heavy-site-traffic-attack-t143021.html

I tried to explain possibilities of this behaviour.

Well, I seen that (and forgot - duh!). Usual (old) behavior was to put highest count (including guests) as this was an indication of "highest hits on forum" for any given day. See post just below mine. Apparently just some kind of "bug" (or code missing?).

Other than that, no problems so far (FF, BTW; 's all good) except...

How do you "collect" a quote and pass it into a PM? I've been "collecting" into Notepad then "pasting". Is this the only/correct method ("Help Section")?

I often use notepad to make replies if I'm going to be using a bunch of quotes. There is no built in function for that if that is what you are asking, or if there is I am not aware of it.

Unfortunately, that's the only way to do it. The quote is actually "stored" as a block element in the textarea inside a div on the new page with your post, and while it's probable that the site code could do this, it doesn't currently.

Apropos of the Codebox discussion above, it seems that color tags are broken within them as well.

Is it safe to say that there is no formating of text within a Codebox or Code now?

I'm afraid to look but here goes, this next codebox was in a post about HDD boot sectors (see #25 here), this should be a real mess ...

yup, FUBAR. Some upgrades are really downgrades (comment not directed at you Xper, but at the forum software authors of course). They deserve massive ridicule and should not be allowed anywhere near a computer for the duration of their meaningless lives.

IMHO.

It's not a problem with the board/forum software, as I run the same forum software on my website and it works fine. Keep in mind that BBCode tags do not work inside code boxes. It appears to only be an issue here and recently an addon broke several BBCodes and more. That may again be the issue here.
