Final ESU Updates for Windows 7 SP1 (Retired!)

Recommended Posts

Thanks, I'll just include it then as it makes WU look cleaner.  ;)

Has anybody else had the IE11 issue with it continually opening the welcome page (that was before and after including KB2976627 in the image)? Might just use a script to add the registry entry until I know why it does it.

I never experienced that  , I get the welcome screen when I first launch IE11 after installing Win7, but after that it no longer appears for me.

I disable first run wizard in autounattend.xml ...

        <component name="Microsoft-Windows-IE-InternetExplorer" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <DisableFirstRunWizard>true</DisableFirstRunWizard> <Home_Page>https://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0</Home_Page> <SuggestedSitesEnabled>false</SuggestedSitesEnabled> <CompatibilityViewDomains>microsoft.com</CompatibilityViewDomains> </component>

HTH :)

Or modify the registry when you are creating the image file - I have mounted the WIM at D:\Sources\Win7\Mount - modify to suit.

REG load HKLM\Mount D:\Sources\Win7\Mount\Windows\System32\config\SOFTWARE

REG add "HKLM\Mount\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main" /v "DisableFirstRunCustomize" /t REG_DWORD /d 1

REG unload HKLM\Mount

That's because most of the updates are superseded or Updates for certain features I don't provide updates for, like Remote Desktop.

KB971033 is not in the list as it is a WGA checker, and not everyone wants it.

KB976902 has been superseded by KB2533552.

The IE11-Windows6.1-KB3021952-x64.msu file in your lists I believe is a MS mistake which they fixed on the technet download links, but elsewhere?

The correct size is 52,267,471 bytes and the SHA-1 is 33AE2C3AC484A0EE9BA13597938F7AD0FA210F7A

The one in your current list is 28,271,691 bytes and 34C3E214F853CE20E8E787276893FE210EBACBD6.

I think MS used 32 bit IE11 one instead of 64 bit.

Yup, I noticed that yesterday, M$ Download Center had same link (32 bit) for 32 & 64 bit all day yesterday... also note that KB3021952 - IE 11 Cumulative Update is another "bundle" update thru WU that installs 3021952 & also KB3023607 ... so KB3023607 should be included in list... Download 3021952 thru M$ Catalog Updates includes both 3021952 (49mb) & 3023607 (5.2mb - 55mb total) - both must be integrated for clean WU tested in VM.

Direct d/l link for KB3023607 x64 (from windows update log)
