pieczniq
I have that problem since I've integrated some ryan's updates, addons, and nLite Addons for my unattended instalation. When I start VMware and mount the ISO file it doesn't boot. There isn't any text: "Press any key to boot..." and I didn't turned that option in nLite. Any ideas to solve the problem, mates?Greetings from Poland
HØLLØW
How have you created your ISO-file? With nLite? Edited November 23, 2009 by HØLLØW
pieczniq
Sure as I always do. And that's why I'm surpriced. It's first time happening. And I don't know how to fix that :/

jaclaz
Any ideas how to FIND the reason why ISO does not start even in VMWare?Open the .iso file in 7-zip.Can you see a folder named [bOOT]?What are it's contents?jaclaz
Sp0iLedBrAt
If you still have the folder with the contents of the XP CD, open nLite again, point it to the folder and choose only Create a bootable ISO fro the options. Then, instead of the default engine, choose mkisofs and make another ISO. This should do the trick. If you have deleted the contents of the folder, then just mount the ISO, copy/paste the contents into the folder and do the above given procedure. pieczniq
Bootable_NoEmulation.img - this is the only file on my [bOOT] directory.choose mkisofs and make another ISOUnfortunately that didn't work
jaclaz
Bootable_NoEmulation.img - this is the only file on my [bOOT] directory.Which, if it is exactly 2048 bytes in size "seems" right. Let's go on, still in the open in 7-zip .iso, can you locate:\I386\BOOTFIX.BIN\I386\SETUPLDR.BIN\I386\TXTSETUP.SIF or \I386\TXTSETUP.SI_?jalcaz
pieczniq
\I386\BOOTFIX.BIN\I386\SETUPLDR.BIN\I386\TXTSETUP.SIF or \I386\TXTSETUP.SI_I located that files. Weird situation :/
jaclaz
It is very strange, at this point I would think of an iso creating problem. Can you try creating another bootable .iso with same PC?As an example try creating this one:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/?showtopic=2254which is fairly small/fast to download files for/create, but still uses El-Torito No-emulation bootsector.Additionally, try booting those .iso in another VM (to check if for any reason the problem is in your VMware install).Qemu Manager:http://www.davereyn.co.uk/download.htmjaclaz Edited November 28, 2009 by jaclaz
