labat
Hello,I have a problem to create a cd of xp for my acer aspire 3000.I have found the i386 and valueadd folder on the pc and copying it in a new folder. But when I launch nlite, when I select the location of windows installation, I have multiple error messages that say :Missing expected files. Please report this error. LAYOUT.INFError while extracting file LAYOUT.INF ! Be sure that it's not corrupted or tampered with. Recopy clean installation files.I have the same messages for the files : LAYOUT.INF, TXTSETUP.SIF, DRVINDEX.INF, INTL.INFAfter searching in the i386 folder, it appears that these files are not present.I want to know if it's possible to use the files that are already present in windows ?I have found all this files in C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$ and they have the same modification date that the i386 folder. Ponch
Probably yes, but I think if you don't start from a known good set of files ( read "original MS XP disc"), you're in for a lot of bad surprises in the long run.
