sabas
Hi,I got an USB (8Gb) and just created a winXP SP3 installation (from USB_multiboot_10). It's bootable so I used it to install winXP for one of my SATA hard disk (I have 2 SATA hard disks in my PC). The problem is I can't find them during the installation. What I found is the only USB (8Gb).Do I need SATA drivers so that winXP can detect the hard disk? If so, can anyone tell me where to get it and how to inclule it in the installation, using nLite? or do I need to modify the boot.ini ?Thanks, sabas
Ponch
If your XP doesn't see your SATA drives, then yes, you need to integrate the drivers for the controler or use the F6 key when setup starts. You can use nLite for integrating the "text mode" drivers. Try it first and come back with questions. Expect people to answer your question, not to explain the whole "how to". Also there are dedicated forums for both nLite and USB_Multiboot ("Install XP from USB").
sabas
Thanks, Ponch. I'll give it a try and come back if I have questions.
jaclaz
Thanks, Ponch. I'll give it a try and come back if I have questions.More specifically there is "sticky" in the appropriate Forum:http://www.msfn.org/board/install-windows-usb-f157.htmlCurously titled:FAQs Please read before starting a new topichttp://www.msfn.org/board/faqs-t116766.htmlQ3 may be interesting, as well as the point 2. in the "main" related thread:http://www.msfn.org/board/install-xp-usb-t111406.htmlthe use of BTS DriverPacks is usually advised, as it is a tested method, whilst the success of direct integration of drivers through nlite or other means may be dependent on the actual drivers needed/used.jaclaz
