7Customizer - a Windows 7 Customization and Deployment tool

Recommended Posts

Solved! :)

Now with Norton Security to launch 7Customizer, I need to verify approval and after the validation I must accept as user and 7Customizer works fine!

It wasn't like this before!

Regards

7Customizer_0.5.0c

*Edit:

@blue4603

When I extract the file 7Cutomizer_0.5.0c.rar; I see a log.txt file inside the folder: C:\7Customizer_0.5.0c\work!

It seems that you forgot to delete this file!

For users, at this time, simply remove this file before launching 7Customizer!

@dmikester1

Has anyone had any luck getting this to work with an upgrade disc? That's the only install cd I have.

Thanks

Mike

I now have an upgrade disc and I will try to customize it and report back to you.

Regards

Were you or anyone else able to get this to work with an upgrade version of Windows 7?

Thanks

Mike

I don't understand why when I create my Autounattend.xml file with 7Customizer, even if I choose my custom local settings fr-FR , I have:

<settings pass="windowsPE">
<component name="Microsoft-Windows-International-Core-WinPE" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="NonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<SystemLocale>en-us</SystemLocale>
<UserLocale>en-us</UserLocale>
<UILanguage>fr-FR</UILanguage>
<UILanguageFallback>en-us</UILanguageFallback>
<InputLocale>0409:00000409</InputLocale>
</component>

i uploaded the exe to virustotal website and no virus were found : http://www.virustota...a2b8-1321026689

7Customizer must be approved by Norton Security and blue4603 can send a "dispute" to Symantec to check his software, like I made with 7zip SFX Maker 3.2.exe.

Because now 7Customizer is always removed when I launch the software!!!!!!!!

http://community.nor...ion/td-p/232155

Here is the answer I received about 7zip SFX Maker 3.2.exe

The Symantec Insight Dispute team has reviewed your recent submission to the Insight Dispute Submission form Webpage form "7zip SFX Maker 3.2." In light of further investigation and analysis Symantec is happy to remove this detection from within its products. Please ensure that your machine reflects the change by running LiveUpdate.

Decisions made by Symantec are subject to change if alterations to the Software are made over time or as classification criteria and/or the policy employed by Symantec changes over time to address the evolving landscape.

Sincerely,

Symantec Insight Dispute Team

Now this sofware is approved by Symantec....

Cheers

*Edit: This trouble occurs often with UPX compression!!

I used the lastest possible version and created an ISO without problems. Used every option beside unattended. It installs everything quite nice and in the end (after restart, 99%) it shows an error that "Windows cannot configure one or more components." and the installation stops. What did I do wrong?

I meant I did install the system on the same partition that the 7Customizer was installed, so it have been formatted. I didn't thought about that, now I regret. I just hoped that somebody had the same problem, it's probably one of the options you can use. I used every excerpt unatended. I read somewhere that it might be something with setting the services defaults.

I seems, a component removal xml is not working correctly. Do you have access to the corrupt installation (with a linux live cd or so)? If so, could you attach the last 200 or so lines of the file setupact.log which is located in \Windows\Panther?

And myselfidem is right. Always test the iso in a virtual machine before installing it on a real machine.

If your OS is working on your computer, you can try to look at:

C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

However, you will need to reinstall your OS and make your future tests on a virtual machine!

You can also attach your unattend.xml file located inside: C:\Windows\Panther
