7Customizer - a Windows 7 Customization and Deployment tool

Recommended Posts

@SwedenXP

As I said before there is a program called Windows Updates Downloader (WUD).

In windows 7, I think you need to use the Windows update feature that comes with 7 like the one in Vista.

There isn't any site similar to the XP one.

I will try the Updates and the Drivers when I have time...

Is there a traditional updatesite at MS, besides the update function under Controlpanel-System and Security-Windows Update so I can choose which updates I want to dl and install via 7Customizer?

No there is no traditional single site to download each update individually. Instead, there are a single web-page for each update, and you will have to track down each update separately. The only alternative is 3rd party application's that do this for you.

Link is in my SIG for an Up-To-Date WUD Windows 7 Updates list. (all Critical/Optional updates through 11-10-2009). If you need the WUD, install it from jcarle's website.

@Blue4603

I have a problem with my autounattended.xml. However my serial-key ist the right one, i get error messages and the whole installation stopped. I used the new version 0.2.1 ! You know the problem ?

Sounds like the issue has not to do with Blue's app, but a mis-typed key in your AutoUnattend.xml. Wouldn't it be easier just to edit the XML manually ?

Or do we need to re-run the app to change a key typo ?

@pedilover

Could you make sure that your key is typed right in autounattended.xml.

@MrJinje

Or do we need to re-run the app to change a key typo ?

No. you could directly go and edit autounattended.xml if you typed your a wrong key.

Interesting app you have here... I'd like to see two additional elements added it to. First is disk partitioning, and second is join domain/workgroup (and the necessary credentials for the user that has join domain rights). Add those, and you'd have a pretty darn good app that would do probably about 95% of what System Admins require the overly complex WAIK for.
