Teapopper Posted July 29, 2009 Share Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) HelloIm using a unattend.xml with Windows 2008 Deployment server.How can i automatically select the serial number on the machine and use it as computer name in an unattend.xml ?And then i want it to join the Domain. cluberti Posted September 22, 2009 Share Posted September 22, 2009 You would have to find a way to rewrite the computername field of the xml file BEFORE the setup routine runs (ala MDT or SCCM). Other than that, there's no way to do it other than using a script to change the computer name afterwards. Either way, this isn't a feature of Windows setup.
