Guest
I thought all service packs included all the previous service packs until I read this...Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) is a free update for Windows XP. SP3 includes all previously released Windows XP updates, including security updates, hotfixes, and select out-of-band releases. To install SP3, either Windows XP Service Pack 1a (SP1a) or Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) must already be installed.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/...p3/default.mspxhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389Any thoughts? Guest
I found a couple old threads. I read it wrong. You can slipstream SP3 onto an untouched XP. It's installing that has prerequisites. To install SP3, either Windows XP Service Pack 1a (SP1a) or Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) must already be installed. Romeo29
You can slipstream SP3 on no-SP, SP1 or SP2 CD.But if you install SP3 on an existing installation, it would require that you already have at least SP1.
Zenskas
Just what Romeo29 said. Anyone know if it is better or worse to slipsteam SP3 on a no-SP disk or one with SP2? Or does it make absolutely no difference?

I have checked on Windows Vista. Service Pack 2 can'be installed on exiting Windows Vista RTM(build 6000). It requires at least SP1.
