Intel Matrix Storage Console for Windows 7?

Intel does not (suprisingly) support Windows 7 yet, but I figure the Vista x86 and x64 drivers should work the same on Windows 7.

The problem is the drivers in Windows 7 RC are 8.6.2.1012 4/8/2009

The latest package on Intel's site are 8.8.0.1009 3/13/2009

It is odd that the drivers shipped with 7 RC are dated newer but a lower version number, something is wrong.

Anyway, I am not really interested in having the latest drivers, but rather just want at least the Matrix Storage Console so I can monitor the status of my drives.

I am not sure if I should run the installer, because I am not sure if it is going to install bad drivers and cause problems.

Ideas?

nope,

i have 4 seagate drives and have had 0 issues with any build of windows 7, the early beta builds if i lost power unexpectedly would cause a rebuild of the array frequently but since RC had not had that issue

Apparently a couple days after the last post here, Intel added drivers with official support for Windows 7 RC1 x86 and x64, interesting Server 2008 R2 is not 'supported' yet.

Note: The actual setup file is the same for both and contains drivers for both architectures.
