dencorso
Grub4DOS can boot:replacing the MBRreplacing the the PBRreplacing a CD bootloaderreplacing NTLDRchailoaded by NTLDR using boot.inifrom config.sysfrom autoexec.batfrom the DOS command promptand probably it can do other thing besides these. After it takes control, it will chainload various OSes, depending on what you tell it to boot. But I really cannot imagine how would it be possible to boot from inside an unbooted (=inactive) OS.
