adrian2055
Sometimes I get a files on my C:\ drive called "drivertimer.txt". I don't know what it is. Is this a bad file? I just formatted and re-installed vista this weekend and I don't have any viruses on my pc. Does anyone else get this file? Kotuku
Google says it is part of Torrent. ARe you using any of the Torrents for Downloads? If you ain't maybe your machine is a zombie doing that work for someone else??As it is a txt file, you can open it safely in Notepad or Wordpad, have a look what it is recording? adrian2055
Thanks for the response. This file popped up when I started my pc. I wasn't connected to the internet and didn't have any torrents downloading. I opened the txt file and this is what in it:4,0,1,7fa0370,0,0,0,cb,cb 4,1,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 4,2,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 4,3,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 13,0,1,7fa0370,0,0,0,cb,cb 13,1,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 13,2,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,0,0,0,cb,cb 26,1,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,2,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,3,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,1,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,2,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,3,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cb 26,0,1,7fa0370,2,0,cb,cb,cbI don't know what to make of this. Tripredacus
Google says it is part of Torrent. ARe you using any of the Torrents for Downloads? It is in a lot of torrents and in fact its being seeded. The google search results has a weird truncation of the webpage's text to make it seem like it say the txt file tracks torrents. If you go to the website instead of reading the results, you will see it.I've seen this file before but I forget what it is.
Guest
I suspect you have some type of malware as that file being there is not normal. Before reinstalling I would use this opportunity to track down what it is so we can all learn from it. Perhaps join a malware forum that specializes in this. There are a lot more hits on Yahoo for that file name than Google. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=drivertimer.txt
adrian2055
It has to be related to malware because I can't change any settings in Ad-Aware 2008. I'm gonna run it in safe mode and see if I can get some answers. BTW...Didn't know there were malware forums. Can you recommend one?

Kotuku
http://www.prevx.com/freescan.aspThis does a pretty good job on all Malware and will certainly pick up if the file is a baddie. It is free to use, but you will need to pay if you want it to fix things. Very unobtrusive in its running and sits alongside other AV products quite happily
adrian2055
I made a thread at lunarsoft:http://www.lunarsoft.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3866Maybe they can help us figure out what it is.

Tarun
It was exactly as Tripredacus said. Just a text file created by torrent(s).
