Noob Question about .msstyles

Recommended Posts

Hi this is my 1st post so go easy on me lol

I am wanting my install of windows xp home to by default install a different style.

I have my style and have read the advanced notes, but I don't get where I am meant to put my style or how to make it so it installs as default.

The file is called, Crystal Clear Aero.msstyles and it has a Shell folder with it which contains 4 more folders (NormalColor, CrCl1s, CrCl2, CrCl2s) each contain a single file: Shellstyle.dll

Thanks,

Chiller.

You need to add these lines to WINNT.SIF in I386 folder-

[shell]

CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\ThemeName.Theme"

Then add these folders to $OEM$/$$/

Resources(Copy and paste your Themes folder) here.

Any non-default cursors, wallpapers, sounds, etc will have to be copy and pasted at same location into following folders

Cursors

Fonts

Media(for Sounds)

System32(for ScreenSavers)

Web/Wallpapers

Hope this helps
