Kathryn Scheller Posted March 11, 2009 Share Posted March 11, 2009 I've installed ACDSee 11 and it's put a bunch of stuff on the context menu you see when you right-click on an image file (see attached). spacesurfer Posted March 11, 2009 Share Posted March 11, 2009 I hate when programs add their entries like that.Open Regedit.exe. Find the file type in question in HKEY_Classes_ROOT. Like, if it's bitmaps (*.bmp), then go to that key. Under (default), it tells you what program it opens with. For example, Paint.Picture.Go to Paint.Picture under the same HKEY_Classes_ROOT. Go to shell. I would back up that.Then delete the entries you want to get rid of.These are simple instructions. You might have to do some snooping around for your particular case. Acdsee asks which file extensions you want to associate during the install process and there's even menu entries to associate/disassociate it (no need to fire up regedit) so I wouldn't really blame it.
