Integrating SATA drivers unattended setup

Recommended Posts

Hello!

First I'm new to this forum so Hi all :D

I REALLY hope you guys could help me with a problem since I am in desperate need of installing Windows XP on my new computer,

it's a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo SA 3650 (laptop).

I downloaded the SATA drivers (www.korturl.se/fisz) from FSC website and there are two folders (x86 and x64) each containing:

ahcix86s.inf

ahcix86s.sys

ahcix86s.cat

BUT NO TXTFILE.OEM

I tried earlier to integrate these drivers with nLite but I used the PNP variant and not "textbased" since I lacked the TXTSETUP.OEM

This did not work, got "STOP 0x7b" and BSOD with/without integrating drivers.

I have now come to the conclusion that I have to build my own TXTFILE.OEM OR try to modify the TXTSETUP.SIF file that is on my WinXP CD.

I have done the following:

1) Making an ISO of my XP CD

2) Extracting the ISO so I can alter files on the CD

then using this guide here http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/36/

after the EOF (a arrow) added:

[sourceDisksFiles]

ahcix86s.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1

[HardwareIdsDatabase] (I got this info from Device manager and then "AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller" and then "Information" and "HardwareID" is this correct?)

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&SUBSYS_113E1734&REV_00 = ahcix86s

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&SUBSYS_113E1734 = ahcix86s

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_010601 = ahcix86s

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_0106 = ahcix86s

[sCSI.load]

ahcix86s = ahcix86s.sys,4

[sCSI]

ahcix86s = "AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller"

3) I then copied drivers to a folder located (and created the folder):

E:\I386\WINNTUPG\OEM\Drivers\006\ahcix86s

the folder ahcix86s contains:

ahcix86s.inf

ahcix86s.sys

ahcix86s.cat

4) I then modified the "WINNT.SIF" with the following line:

OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\006\ahcix86s

(OemPreinstall=Yes was already that value)

5) I then ran:

MAKECAB E:\I386\WINNTUPG\OEM\Drivers\006\ahcix86s\ahcix86s.SYS E:\I386\ahcix86s.SY_ in run and a MS-DOS prompt flashed quickly, I was not able to see what it said.

6) I then used nLite to import the folder and burn a bootable CD and burned it.

BUT THIS DOES NOT WORK!

Please help, I really want to install Windows XP on my notebook.

Best Regards - TheSwede86

I am assuming your laptop uses an AMD/ATI chipset, 780G? I found an XP driver on the ATI website. Download this file from ATI. Extract the files with 7-zip or whatever you want to use and look in the folder named $HWNDPARENT. There are a couple of RAID folders there, you probably need the ones in the RAID7xx folder. Open that folder and you will see the txtsetup.oem file, and the x86 folder containing the three ahcix86 driver files. Hope this helps you get XP installed. :hello:

It's a lot easier to use driverpacks, a lot less messing about.

Are you sure driverpacks include a driver compatible with a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo SA 3650? :unsure:

Namely, are these drivers (inside driverpacks):

http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/devices.php?pag=m

AMD Technologies Inc.

AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller

AMD RAID Console

ahci6xx.inf 08/08/2007, 2.500.1540.47 AM

the ones needed/wanted?
