Sande,

Yes indeed it is! I have been trying all day to learn what is causing error 87 on every single DISM command. It was your #1, bad wimfltr driver left over from a previous WAIK installation. I had uninstalled WAIK for W7, as I needed to install Vista WAIK for my current task.

DISM now running like a champ! :thumbup

Kind regards,

Copy D:\MakePE3\Windows\System32\*.* C:\PE\Winpe_x86\Mount\Windows\System32

Copy D:\MakePE3\Icon\*.* C:\PE\Winpe_x86\ISO

What is this?

It's not the KB3AIK_EN cd so what cd/dvd is this?

I try to run your script and I understand that I need some system files...

I'm hoping you have something set to notify you of replies since this is several months old.

I was hoping you could give me some more insight into your solution to stop the unknown command issues with dism. I cannot find any reference on my system to the inf file you mentioned in your post (and i don't have virtual server installed).

the only switches that dism will accept on my system is /image and /online everything else results in an error

c:\>dism /mount-wim

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool

Version: 6.1.7600.16385

Error: 87

The mount-wim option is unknown.

For more information, refer to the help by running DISM.exe /?.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Or if anyone else has any information, please do chime in.

Edit:

I was able to get dism to start acting correctly by replacing wimgapi.dll in system32 with the copy found in the waik\tools\[architecture] folder

The IEEE 802.1X authentication protocol is not supported in Windows Preinstall Environment (PE) 3.0, but now there is a MS fix (394905_intl_x64_zip.exe) that includes

    hotfix.txt                              2.155
    KB972831.txt                              276
    pkg.log                               268.742
    Windows6.1-KB972831-x64.cab         2.372.591
    Windows6.1-KB972831-x64.msu         2.491.482

my problem is now, that I have no idea how I get that hotfix integrated into the WinPE. I know I must use Windows AIK to integrate it into the Boot.wim but because I am new on Windows AIK I am sure I need a list of commands to get this done

any help ?

Use DISM add-package on that MSU.

The actual howto's being here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/dism-operating-system-package-servicing-command-line-options

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/add-or-remove-packages-offline-using-dism

This is simpler/more to the point:

Though normally updates are integrated to the install.wim, not to the boot.wim, it is possible that there are some other pre-requisites/sub-systems that need to be integrated as well to have that working.

It's the same link twice, once in German, the second in English.

The procedure is rather complex (actually more lengthy then complex), but it is broken down in 21 points, WHICH one(s) are not clear to you? :dubbio:
