rivalx911
Everytime I try to log on, it successfully logs but automatically logs out by itself and goes back to the login screen. It started when I was aware of an infection and decided to uninstall my current protection (Mcafee) and then I installed AVG, cleaned the infections and AVG requested I restart my computer. I did so and the login error occured.I've tried -safemode-lastknowngoodconfig-and other whatnot~I was wondering if I could just install another harddrive, format that with Windows and then copy my pics from the messed up hardrive over to my new one.any tips and how-to's?i dont really want to reformat i my aunt keeps alot of family pictures in it.i greatly appreciate it. :] Edited January 31, 2009 by rivalx911
Tripredacus
There was a recently reported issue of Spybot doing this to systems. Did you happen to have installed that at all?

submix8c
http://www.livecdlist.com/Be aware that you will1 - need to know where to find what you want to save2 - need somewhere other than the problem HDD to save to (usb stick?)A live-cd may even help you in getting yourself up and running again, if you know what you are doing/looking for. Also, be aware that if you have a pirated key on the PC in question, you may be "locked out" by an update from MS...And, FWIW, a "reinstall over top" may/may-not cure your problem.
