Yet another huge Win98 improvement by Tihiy :thumbup

Don't see any display problems anymore, memory/resource usage is no problem on my Duron 1200+348Mb SDRAM. Wel, not more than before I mean. Large webpages with lot's of pictures still kill my systems speed but that's normal.

but the pics Philco posted dont look any different

so whats this meant to do lol?

C'mon my friend, you are just kidding right? Please look again or go see a doctor for your eye problem. And do a google search for "cleartype"

I've uploaded a new version on the same link.

However, it does not contain any noticeable changes at all; you shouldn't bother to install it. There are only slight code changes.

I've decided to not develop ClearType wider now since performance of rasterizer is quite bad.

Maybe later, maybe another renderer.

ClearType will be available as the optional component in upcoming Revolutions Pack.

Don't worry, there will be no extra calories.

Also FYI, you can tweak font look a bit from Microsoft Reader options.

 And you were on a roll too!

The performance has improved with your second update and is actually barely noticable for general use!

After a day's use, I no longer notice it at all...

What I do notice, like XP-Vista-7, is that reading on-screen is much easier on the eyes!

I'll test your third update just to see if there is any performance change.

 I noticed on Philco's last screenshot, that his window title bar text is using ClearType.

Even though mine are using a TrueType font, they are not using ClearType???

I am not using UberSkin, but RP instead, so I wonder if that is the reason?

Also, I currently do not have a skin applied with LameSkin.

- I thought this was odd.

I still think it is worth continuing with ClearType, at least as an option, since many people would wear the small performance hit for the sake of excellent screen readability.

So my verdict is: Keep up the good work!

Thanks Tihiy

I've found a bug while printing document with header in Word 2000 .

First I noticed at my LCD upper parts of words in document header were partially covered blue and finally on the printed sheet all lines are black rectangles (no letters only bullets are visible)

aha.

Preview version 4

Same download link.

- ClearType is disabled for whole printing process

If you find major glitches within Word, please post evidences.

whatever420: That's a nice thing you've done. Although i could & intend to use ctras.dll independently, i can't do that now for test sake.

I can't advice using your archive. (7z? hardcoded strange paths? also, unnecessary entries)

Thanks Tihiy :)...

Yeah, I understand your comments...

The files I provided were just an example (test) of how it could be implemented...

If I were putting it out there for public use, it would be a bit more professional... ;)

Hi Tihiy, what did you change in update 4?

My system seems even faster on the screen draw...

It's quite nice in fact! I liiiike it!

The only change in resources, I noted, is a 2% drop in USER resources, quite good really!

ClearType is one feature of newer XP-Vista-7 that I really liked.

Now it's coming to 9x! :thumbup
