GoBBLeS
Ok, made a vLite Vista copy and with alot taken off. Some of these things are drivers that i don't need. There are none that i can find that relates to CDROM/DVD drivers, but none of my drives get found.I think it may be some other thing i've removed, but i can't really figure it out..Anyone know, more precisely, what optionals can en/disable CDROM/DVD support?Btw. is there a way of not installing WMP and still be able to play WMV9/11 files? I really loathe that app and i usually use WMClassic and k-lite codec pack to play everything, but WMP seems to have to be installed to play WMV videoes integrated in websites. El Barry
As far as I know, you can remove all the components the the DVD drives would still work. The only thing I can think about is if your drives are connected on the SATA ports and the BIOS is configured in AHCI or RAID; still, I am configured as AHCI and never had a problem with my drive. For WMP, you must have it installed for WMV playback. mkgodfrey
Unrelated to vlite, Vista and XP have a common issue with optical drives showing up. I also had this issue when newly installing Windows 7. Try this:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
