whats the CLSID of the current user's Desktop?

eg: http://www.xs4all.nl/~hwiegman/clsid.html

i'd like to launch the Desktop folder from commandline, (including all special icons like recycle bin, networking, my comp). the only way i am able to get a folder view of the Desktop, retaining all special icons, is by continuously clicking "directory up" from within an previously opened folder view.

thanks,

Leon

u're right, it does work in XP. but not in xplorer2, it just gives me the folder contents unless i click the desktop in the folder tree. time for a bug report.

i should point out, however, that even real folders can have CLIDs (see provided link in OP). ex: Start>Run> ::{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}

thx.

In xplorer2, just type %userprofile%\desktop in the address bar (w/o launching the DOS box, F10). It will bring u to your own desktop folder
