There was a very good Autopatcher for Windows 2000, available here.

It worked by downloading one big file that contained all the updates, running it and selecting the ones you wanted to install, all while offline. You could then keep it up to date by downloading much smaller update versions.

It was in fact, exactly the same in principle as soporific's Autopatcher for Windows 98SE, to be found elsewhere on MSFN.

Unfortunately, the Windows 2000 version was squashed by Microsoft, with threats of legal action, as it was redistributing their copyright files.

What is now available at autopatcher.com is a version which still automates the downloads, but takes them from Microsoft Update instead of them being included in the Autopatcher file.

I haven't personally used any of the later versions.

:)

yes I have seen the autopatcher.com.

but it only has to download english files and I have a swedish version of 2K.

and I want the update file so I can integrate them to my CD so win 2k is updated from the install.

is there any list of all KB updates for 2K.

so I maybe can change the name on them to swedish names.

I would highly recommend HFSLIP for slipstreaming hotfixes into an install source...

It supports more updates for direct integration than nLite, and it also supports directly slipstreaming DirectX 9.0c into your install source(without the bloat). The same goes for IE6-SP1 and WMP9(if you for some strange reason would want these)...

It's multi-language, open-source and written in plain cmd-syntax, so you can see exactly what's going on under the hood, and it supports an answer-file for making the process completelly unattended...

It supports FDV's Win2k IE/Junk Removal Fileset, so to make your Win2k system really fly(and be more secure and tweaked)...

FDV's homepage: http://www.vorck.com/windows/remove-ie.html

*When you select updates to download from the HFSLIP update list, then change the language to your own language before you download the update...
