Sliceman Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Hi,Is there a way to get the settings which will create the lightest version of Windows XP possible?I dont know exactly what to delete... I'm sure someone has already made it! Please let me know,Thanks,SM
MCT Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 the only way to really do it is for you to do it for yourself & just keep testing, cuz u can remove hardware components that maybe u didnt want removed, but someone else has felt the need to remove themso it wouldnt work for you
TranceEnergy Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Exactly. Some hw support can be removed for some hardware, but for other hardware it can be needed. So then the whole install fails. It's not funny after installing windows that you found out you don't have sound support by your soundcard, coz you removed it.One would think people would realize that computers are different, but this kind of questions keeps popping up no matter what.
XP_NO Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Isn't it right that you can remove most hardware support except your cdrom and harddisk, and add the support later by drivers you get from the right places / hardware manifacturers websites?
Ponch Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 For some yes, it's written as comment. But surely not "most".
redxii Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Open nLite and select every component. Can't guarantee it'll be functional, though.
Kelsenellenelvian Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Its functional like that, Barely but it is still functional...
