zaqxsw
I've integrated WinXP before, but just every few years, so I'm just a little beyond being a newbie.I want to use nLite to integrate IE7 + updates into my WinXP Pro SP3 installation files. I've done a lot of reading about this and wondered what cumulative updates I need to use.I have the 5/6/08 IE7 main program downloaded. I'm not sure if that means all updates prior to 5/6/08 are already in this installation file.I also have the following IE7 cumulative updates:IE7-WindowsXP-KB947864-x86-ENU_030108.exeIE7-WindowsXP-KB950759-x86-ENU_52008.exeIE7-WindowsXP-KB953838-x86-ENU_62608.exeIE7-WindowsXP-KB956390-x86-ENU_100308.exeAs it shows, I renamed these updates with the dates they were released (ie _100308).Do I need to integrate all of these, or just the ones later than 5/6/08, or just the last one: IE7-WindowsXP-KB956390-x86-ENU_100308.exe? Am I missing anything to have the latest IE7 integrated? Thanks for any replies!
Happy-Dude
Why not use just one of the pre-made IE7 + cumulative updates packages? The authors of those add-ons update them with every new patch cycle and are very dedicated !!Check 'em out:http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1737 --> OnePiece's Internet Explorer 7 True Addon w/updateshttp://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1104 --> Internet Explorer 7 English w/Updates (v2.0.2)I personally use Onepiece's (I don't think there was anything of a major difference, it was just that MrNxDmX's add-on didn't work well with the tweaks I did).NOTE::These add-ons haven't been updated for the October Patches. Hey, people are busy, so just sit back and give 'em some time .
FrankE9999
These are the ones I use. Note you only need the latest Cumulative Security Update. If you look in the KB article it will tell you if a patch replaces another patch. For XP SP3 IE 7 MS07-050 (IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exe) patch shows that it replaces MS08-045 (IE7-WindowsXP-KB953838-x86-ENU.exe), MS08-045 replaced MS08-031 (IE7-WindowsXP-KB950759-x86-ENU.exe), MS08-031 replaced MS08-024 (IE7-WindowsXP-KB947864-x86-ENU.exe).MS07-050 : Vulnerability in Vector Markup Language Could Allow Remote Code Execution (938127) IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exehttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS07-050.mspxMS08-058 : Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (956390) IE7-WindowsXP-KB956390-x86-ENU.exehttp://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms08-058.mspxYou may also want to install the following. When you use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a terminal server, PNG images do not appear in Internet Explorer 7 during that RDP sessionhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/935560Print queue shows incorrect number of pages when you print a Web page in Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889333 Edited October 18, 2008 by FrankE9999

cluberti
Note the updates are cumulative. Meaning you only ever need the latest one.
