Raoul90 Posted January 11, 2009 Share Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) This doesnt seem to work.I installed the final today (Dutch language finally).But the .cache map doesnt existC:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live, that map is made by the installer but it does not put anything in there.Just make sure to uncheck the box that hides system files in folder options in Windows Explorer. Also, you need to uncheck the one that says Show hidden files and folders.I will update the tutorial, links to the full installers and a new set of switchless installers will be done tomorrow.I have that option on show, but i cant see the .cache folder tho, i will install Windows Live Messenger on other pc, to see if the folder is tehre.edit:installed on two other pc's, both dont have the .cache folder.I just want Windows Live Messenger en Windows Live Mail. spoirier Posted January 15, 2009 Share Posted January 15, 2009 I discovered that on a Windows XP if you remove the old Windows Messenger that came with the OS using:RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Removeafter running 'WLM9 Switchless.exe' you will get an error saying that it is looking for 'wlm.msi' in the temp directory. I have found that if you run the command to remove the old version first then run 'WLM9 Switchless.exe' you will not get the error.elajua:Thanks for the great work you are doing to make our lives easier! (or can it be elajua?)6 more megabytes (see the uninstaller plz)I updated the main post to make sure everyone sees that Requisites Switchless needs to be installed as well.Sadly, there is no way to slim down the size of WLM and its requisites.On my main computer, i have an uninstall entry, but i will look into this on other computers as soon as i find some time.
