dcyphure
more of a rant to vent than an expectation of an answer. but i sent creative support this email for some help...again, and i just dont get their response.my last email to them.unsatisfied with previous response, i ll clarify my problem precisely.installed latest driver. whenever i reboot it works fine. its ONLY wheni SHUTDOWN the PC and then start it up, i recieve "No audio deviceinstalled" however, if i reboot then it works fine, always does onreboots but not after shuttingdown. seems very odd and i dont know whatsdifferent between the 2 but after that shutdown its as if there is nohardware installed at all. i have ALREADY read the entire knowledgbasearticle about "no audio devices" and is not the problem. i have windowsaudio service running. i have tried reinstalling the driver....manytimes. i have tried reinstalling the OS and then installed driver withnothing else and it still occurs after a shutdown. i must then reboot tomake it work....very annoying. i have also tried previous versiondriver.i have moved card to another pci-e slot. i only have 2 that i canuse. a more technical answer or suggestion would be appreciated, pleasedont respond with suggestions of things that i just mentioned i alreadytriedand response from my [sarc] good buddy [\sarc] sin yee at supportThank you for writing back to us.I understand that you are still having the same issue. I apologize forthe inconvenience that has brought to you and I will try my best toassist you.To resolve this issue please ensure that the onboard audio is disabled.I hope that the above information helps. If you still require assistance, please reply to this email with anyprevious correspondence to ensure the quickest and most accurateservice.Best Regards,Sin YeeTechnical SupportCreative Labs Americascan someone translate that short vague message for me....or at least try to help me with the problem described in the first quote?cause i dont see what disabling my audio has anything to do with my problem that i precisely described or was my email just not well explained? Noise
Basically they are telling you to futz around with your CMOS settings. This type of problem is almost always related to your BIOS. Try flashing your BIOS to the latest version. Disable your on board sound in your CMOS, try fiddling with power management settings... stuff like that. Tripredacus
I had problems contacting their front line tech support before also. They only use generic responses. To get real info you need to be able to talk to their people in escalations department. Or ie, the people Sin Yee's boss talks to. I can't tell you how to get that type of contact information, but that's what you need to do. Any sort of complex problem isn't something those front line guys seem to know how to help with.
