PITU
Hello!I am trying to connect my notebook via wireless LAN. I want the concection to be available before a user is logged on.I installed the Intel PRO Wireless Tools and when I start the notebook, I can see it in my Access Point. The notebooks gets an IP from the DHCP server. But I can't ping the notebook until a user is logged on. The ping request just time out...Is there any way to let XP answer pings during the logon mask is displayed? Thanks,PITU

IcemanND
By default in XP Wireless does not connect until after a user logs in. Some wireless card manufacturers have additional utilities that will make the connection before login. Usually called prelogon or power on connect. It will only connect to a previously configured wireless network.
