WIndows XP Installation

Hi. I tried to reformat my PC with Windows XP, but when it was still setting up, it says that Windows cannot find a hard disk installed, then reboots the computer with a 15 second countdown. I boot it up normally, and I'm able to access the old Windows XP normally. What is wrong? Why can't I format my hard disk?

P.S. My hard disk is SATA.

There is a third possible option though not available on all systems. In the BIOS check for a setting for the SATA controller to change it from AHCI to Compatibility mode.

Otherwise add SATA drivers to the textmode portion of your CD.

The Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) is a hardware mechanism that allows software to communicate with Serial ATA (SATA) devices (such as host bus adapters) that are designed to offer features not offered by Parallel ATA (PATA) controllers, such as hot-plugging and native command queuing.

Compatibility or IDE mode makes the system present the SATA controller to the OS as a standard IDE controller.
