(I appreciate all the help).Is there a way that, through a batch file, I can determine the operating mode of a hard drive?Device Manager will show me if I go to properties of the IDE Controller, but, how do I gather this info? twig123 Posted September 8, 2008 Author Share Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) Further inspection points me to this key containing the info that I need: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0001MasterDeviceTimingMode=Unfortunatly there is no Table that I have found that will tell me what hex or decimal value = what mode... but I guess I might be able to grab that from trial/errorthanks all Edited September 8, 2008 by twig123 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
